Running 2:00:00 [1]
shoes: Brooks Beast Gray sz 10
Ran with Paula and Annie at Lewisburg Saddle.

Saturday Apr 29

Note
After the meet at Willamette Park, three police cars showed up. Then a guy came running through with a leash calling, "Ziggy! Ziggy!". Apparently his dangerous rottweiler got loose in the park. The police said that if you have any kids you need to get them to safety. We came up on the police cars in the woods right where some of our controls were located. We decided to pick up those controls last!

Friday Apr 28

Bicycle 40:00 [1]
Commute to work on a gorgeous day! Found someone's camera case with cell phone, camera, driver's license, and credit card. When I was looking up their address on Mapquest, the owner called her cell phone. Needless to say, she was very relieved.

Ran with Paula and Annie at Philomath High School. Could feel a pull in my leg, so I'm going to take it easy for a couple of days. The NCAA women's gymnastics championships are in town. Very entertaining! One thing I was wondering is how good of a team could be put together with just Ashleys. Just about every team had one. Some had three!

Thursday Apr 20

Hill workout. 30s run, rest, 30s bounding, rest, 1 min run, rest, 30s bounding, repeat. The rest phases was spent walking back down to the start. We walked instead of ran to save the knees. Paula is still very speedy.

Saturday Apr 8

Running 1:00:00 [1]
This is actually a couple of different workouts. Half of our group went riding horses on the beach while the rest went shopping. Since there were not enough horses and I was itching to get some exercise, I ran around on the beach with the cameras and took pictures of everyone. Got some great shots of the breaking waves with Lion's Head in the background.

The other workout was a short run from the Cape Point lighthouse parking lot to the most South Western point of Africa, which I thought was a little lame. Apparently, I and most of the rest of the tourists there thought that we were at the southern most tip of the continent, but it is actually located about 20Km away at Cape Agulhas. It is still a beatiful area. I ran down the trail to the cliffs overlooking the beaches below. There was a big group of kids that I had to pass which was a little tricky because I didn't want to leave the trail and fall off of a cliff on one side or trample any plants on the other. I met the bus at the beaches without keeping them waiting, so it was a successful workout. We saw a half tame rock dassie (like a marmot) just before we left.
