20 min warmup with Annie at Philomath HS. 12 min cooldown looking for Annie lost "shoe". They don't stay on very well with the velcro. Her paws are still healing from getting cut up at Peavy and from playing with kids when we were in Arkansas. She ran okay in them, but she looked funny when she was walking around.

Ran around with Annie at Philomath HS. One of the pads on her paw is cut from our run at Peavy on Sunday, so we put some dog shoes on her. They didn't seem to have an effect on her at all. Paula once put them on her at Dutchman during the US Champs because the pumice was abrading her paws. She acted like they weighed 1000 pounds each! She wouldn't move.

Ran from Peavy to the Lewisburg Saddle and back around the loop. My shoes are now too soft for the rocks on the road, so it is time to retire them.

Ran a CROC orienteering race at Mt. Tabor. After about the 3rd control, got disgusted with the hidden controls, so I rehung them to make them visible.

Commute to work. Fixed my bike tire last night, but this morning it was soft. Dang. Pumped it up and hoped it would last until work. On the way up Barley Hill saw a doe with twins. They trotted up the hill then cross in front of me at the top. When they went across the road I noticed that one of the fawns had a broken back leg. The mother and the first fawn jumped a fence, but the hurt one couldn't and had to run around. If I see them again, I'm going to see if we can get the baby to the vet.

When I rode home last night, I had to pump up my back tire, so of course this morning it was flat. This forced me to ride the Billy Baroo! Before leaving the house saw a bunny under the trees and a couple of quail. Because Billy was so easy to ride, I of course had to push to go faster. A lot of fun.

10 minute warmup jog to the barn. Legs felt heavy from yesterday's intervals. 14 minute cooldown jog back to the truck afterwards. Saw a big orangish-brown moth on the jogging trail. As big as the palm of my hand. Also, saw a black snake with a yellow stripe on its back.
