Canadian Champs Classic Day 2
I had a pretty good race. A couple of 2 minute mistakes. Ted de St. Croix started 2 minutes after me and I didn't see him until just before control #4. That was a major victory in itself. Overall felt that I had 4 minutes of navigation mistakes and 4 minutes of route choice errors (I could have significantly reduced my climb).

Canadian Champs Classic Day 1
Had a pretty good day. A couple of 2 minute errors, so I'm happy. Had to wade through a stream that was waist deep. Haven't done that for awhile. Again, very detailed terrain and very fun!

Training on the Canadian Champs Short Course
Picked up the flagging tape that I had put out. I concentrated on flowing through the course. I noticed that some of my splits were about the same as the race a few days ago even though I wasn't pushing the speed and was untieing streamers.

Note
Took this day off and drove to Atlin.

Training at Long Lake
Reran my short course from yesterday. Would have saved about 3 minutes on my race (yesterday) had I taken more conservative routes. Messed up on the long leg, control #6 this time. I put flagging tape up at the controls for other people to train on.

Canadian Champs Midnight Sun Relay
I ran the last leg on our relay team (Steve Gregg, Kelsey Breseman, and myself). My race wasn't that great. I had a hard time getting into the map. We ended up in 4th place for the 8-point teams.

Canadian Champs Short Course
I had another fairly decent face. I lost a couple of minutes towards the end, but overall I was happy. The map is very complicated with lots of deep depressions and hills.

Short Course 7 - Splits

Tuesday Jul 13

Hiking 3:00:00 [1] 18 km (10:00 / km)
Hiked in Kluane National Park. First I started a hike to the top of one of the mountains. I forget the name. Then I bagged it because I didn't want to do a bunch of stream crossings. I then did the Auriol Trail. Very mosquito-y. I saw some fresh tracks on the trail, so I called out, "Here Moosie, Moosie, Moosie!" because I didn't want to surprise it.

Monday Jul 12

Orienteering (race) 1:21:34 [3] 6.3 km (12:57 / km)
Barebones O-Cross (Farsta)
The is was a 3 loop race with forking. I ran very well on the first 2 loops then ran out of energy on the last part. I got passed by hordes of runners, but I was pleased with my result. Finally a decent run!
