Orienteering race 1:50:30 [1] *** 7.8 km (14:10 / km) +165m 12:49 / km
20c
Canadian Champs Classic Day 2, Williams Lake, British Columbia

Nailed the first control, then totally screwed up #2. I meant to angle over to a fence on the right side. Hit a fence, but when I checked my compass (after running along it for awhile) it was going 90 degrees to what I expected. Turns out this was a fence on the other side of the control which took awhile to figure out. My left knee was hurting from running through the high vegetation during the weekend, so I was only able to walk/jog the rest of the course. Not running caused me to defocus and think about other things like meet planning for the US Champs, so I wasn't hitting the controls like I would have liked.

Orienteering race 1:11:51 [3] *** 7.6 km (9:27 / km) +125m 8:44 / km
19c
Canadian Champs Classic, Williams Lake, British Columbia

Had a pretty good race. Made a 3 minute mistake on a control in a tough area because I had no plan and didn't come up with one on the way there. Otherwise I was able to run pretty hard for most of the race.

Orienteering race 42:13 [3] *** 3.5 km (12:04 / km) +105m 10:29 / km
14c
Canadian Champs Middle Distance at Williams Lake, British Columbia

I was very sloppy on this race, a little left or a little right on several controls. I did have a small stretch of controls with good flow.

Middle Distance Course 9 - Splits

Monday Jul 11

Bicycle 1:00:00 [1]
Rode bike to work, to the dentist, and back home. They were doing something on Reservoir Road, so I waited for the flagger to let us through, then got impatient and went through the West Hills Road neighborhood instead.
