| Colorado 5-Days Day 1
The day didn't start off so well. I pushed it to get to Buena Vista late Wednesday night; it was actually Thursday by the time I got there. There were no rooms available. I should have made the reservation when I was looking at it, instead of trying to go the cheap route. I had to go to Salida to get a room, where I got a speeding ticket. My race was just okay. I had a hard time inside many of the circles. map: Buena Vista | ||

| Put out more water this weekend. I'm now a member of the 10-gallon club, which I accomplished in the most awkward way possible. I put 2 gallons in the bottom section of my pack, 3 in the main compartment, and 3 on top strapped to the crossbar. When I lifted my pack, the 3 gallons that were on top slid off the pack and were dangling on one side banging me in the head. I wasn't about to set the pack down and try again, so I trudged off to the water sites with the final 2 gallons in my hand, pack askew, and 3 gallons of water bouncing against the side of my face. I didn't lose a drop though. | ||
