| Steve set up a fun course at Chip Ross today. We took off the trails and fences off of the advanced course to make it more challenging. The sun actually came out today! First time in a long while. |

| Warmup run with Annie from the truck to the barn at Bald Hill, 10 minutes. Cooldown from about mid hill back to the truck, 16 minutes. |

| Ran to the top of Bald Hill 3 times. The times were about 7:38, 8:05, and 8:45. Very muddy conditions. |

| 5x30s hill bounding. Did 2 of them between runs to the top, then at the end did 3 more. The sequence was run to the top, run down to the good spot at midhill, do a 30s hill bound session, run down to the bottom of the hill, repeat. |

| 8x5min intervals in the swampy, soggy, cold, snowy, grounds at the high school. There was a constant wet snow coming down which was very cold on the hands. I tried to imagine the Jorgen Martensson picture of him splashing through the swamps...only slower. |

| Commute to work via downtown. Had a light dusting of snow on the ground again this morning. Near the Starker Forest offices there was a huge number of geese in the fields. This was the biggest number that I have ever seen together on the ground. |

| Saw the varied thrush this morning in the back corner of the backyard hopping around on the ground. They have some cool coloration. They are very close to a black-headed grosbeak, which I also claim to have seen in the backyard. So now I have some doubts about the grosbeaks. I thought that what I saw had thick beaks. Hope they come back so that I can resolve question. |
