Ran my sprint course from the other day. The time spent tieing both of my shoes and petting dogs offset the time I didn't spend punching in at each control. Paula ran the course in 20:57. Just under 21 minutes and faster than Larry!

Rode to Avery Park for the run, then went downtown for a cookie then back home.

10 min warmup run from the truck to the base of Bald Hill. 13 min back from midhill to the truck.

3 x top of hill. Times: 7:06, 7:14, 7:21. Beautiful weather. Trails were dry. My times were a little slower, but then I'm a little fatter.

6x30s bounding. Ran 2 between each trip to the top of the hill.

Note
We did an orienteering event with the Kings Valley Charter school at Whispering Winds Girl Scout Camp. It was interesting to see what a wide range of abilities you get from a general population of kids. First rule, you cannot make it too easy. When course setting, I put one of the controls off of the main road on a side trail to make things a little more difficult. Big disaster! When I checked on things while they were running the course, *most* of the teams were floundering around looking for this control. Maybe if the map was better. I was quite proud of the 2 super teams, one boys team and one girls team, who crushed everyone else.
