Sunday Jul 31

Running long 1:55:00 [2]11.2 mi (10:16 / mi)
Long run from Maplewood WI to Forestville and back. Long country roads, hot and sunny. Good way to start the morning before the Fireman's picnic parade.

Saturday Jul 30

Kickball 20:00 [1]0.01 mi (33:31:40 / mi)
Played in kickball tournament in Sturgeon Bay WI. Played two games. Played okay, but had a poor showing in the beer can launch.

Friday Jul 29

Walking 2:30:00 [1]4.0 mi (37:29 / mi) +150m 20:52 / km
Went with students on a scavenger hunt all over St. Paul. Not bad for a day of work. the cool thing is that this is possibly the farthest many of our students have ever walked. That included going up and back on the High Bridge in St. Paul.

Thursday Jul 28

Hiking (with poles) 1:45:00 [2]10 km (10:30 / km) +100m 10:00 / km
Pole hiked at Hyland Park in Bloomington with Molly. Great night.

Finished the night off with a run around the Lake loop at Hyland.

Wednesday Jul 20

Short loop that included Ohio St Hill and Raamsey Hill in St. Paul. Good night.

Tuesday Jul 19

Lake St. Ford Parkway loop. Felt good. Good night for a run

Sunday Jul 17

Running 40:00 [3]4.5 mi (8:52 / mi)
Lake St. Franklin loop. Out for a very early run. Ltttle stiff to start, but warmed up and felt pretty good.

Saturday Jul 16

Mtn Biking (with trailer) 55:00 [2]9.5 mi (5:47 / mi)
Rode over to Lake Nokomis to watch the Lifetime Triathlon. Played in the water and rode home with Jasper in tow.
Felt pretty good.
Tomorrow maybe a run.

Wednesday Jul 13

Note
Will probably take most of this week off to recuperate from heat illness. Feeling much better at this point, but nervous to get back to work in the heat

Saturday Jul 9

Adventure Race race 7:55:00 [4]*** 43.0 mi (11:03 / mi) +300m 6:43 / km
18c
MNOC Adventure O at Lake Rebecca Park in Hennepin County. 90 + degrees. Very good course that was navigation intensive. 34 miles of biking, 7.5-8.0 miles of trekking, 1.5 miles paddling.
Did not have a great day aas navigator for our team, chose routes off path through thick vegetation, missed a simple road crossing that cost valuable miles and time, missed a CP on the trek by just a few feet that cost us nearly 30 minutes.
The heat took its toll and severely impacted our performance and my health.
We finished, but with 2 hours of penalties.
I need to evaluate diet, training, and race day hydration after this one.

Thursday Jul 7

Rowing 45:00 [2]4 km (11:15 / km)
Coaching launch was out of gas, so I coached from a double. Surprise chance to work out a little.

Wednesday Jul 6

Road Biking (commute) 25:00 [2]6.0 mi (4:09 / mi)
Mtn Biking (Pavement with trailer) 47:00 [3]9.0 mi (5:13 / mi) +100m 3:08 / km
Took Jasper on a ride along the River. Lake St. to Washington Avenue. Any way I can count throwing rocks in the Mississippi as strength work?

Monday Jul 4

Mtn Biking 2:50:00 [2]* 17.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
To celebrate the independence of this nation we made use of in-laws and got in a nice, long workout. Goal was long and steady. Started with the Esker Trail near Telemark, Beautiful single track. Then connected with the Short and Fat trail, then the Ojibwe trail. After parking our bikes for a short trail run, we rode into Cable for Lunch at the BrickHouse and then back to the car.
C • Lucky you! 1
Trail Running 50:00 [2]6 km (8:20 / km) +300m 6:40 / km
Parked bikes at the North End Trail Head. Headed to the Powerlines and then back South to about the 8 k marker. Turned and went back to the bikes. Bugs bad.

Sunday Jul 3

Mtn Biking 1:30:00 [4]* 17.0 mi (5:17 / mi)
Mountain biking in Haayward. Did thr Barstool loop, the Birkie Trail from Gravel Pit Rd to Mosquito Brook, then back home on the roads. Great terrain and ended up being a good mix of conditions for AR training. Black Flies were awful.

Saturday Jul 2

Trail Running long 1:18:00 [2]13 km (6:00 / km) +400m 5:12 / km
Great trail run on the Birkie trail. Started at OO and went North. Saw 5 grouse and pulled 21 wood ticks off after the run. The weather was perfect and I didn't see a single person on the trail

Friday Jul 1

Running 30:00 [2]3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Franklin Lake loop with Jasper in the stroller. I had to stop 3/4 of the way home to let him run. Oh darn.
