Skied at Cleary Lake with dog, Molly, Dan, Al, and Cathy. Good day

Note
Went back and entered winter meets from last year, since I had the data and the time.

Thursday Dec 29

Skate Skiing 1:45:00 [4] 30 km (3:30 / km)
Skied with Dave at Elm Creek. Fairly hard night of work. I have the lap splits for Molly's reading enjoyment, but left my watch at home. I have to add those later.
Yippee! more new snow

Wednesday Dec 28

Skate Skiing 1:20:00 [3] 20 km (4:00 / km)
Skiing on the 2.5 K loop at Elm Creek. Time may be off a little. I stopped to ski with Jasper and Molly and tried not to include that time. We need more snow.

Tuesday Dec 27

Running 53:51 [3] 6.5 mi (8:17 / mi)
Ford Bridge Lake st. loop

Monday Dec 26

Skate Skiing 1:25:00 [2] 15 km (5:40 / km)
Easy skiing and double poling on classic only trails with Molly. Went to ABR in Michigan because of poor snow conditions at Hayward. Great day for a long ski.
Skate Skiing 40:00 [4] 11 km (3:38 / km)
After easy skiing, I decided to work hard for a while. Felt pretty good actually. Surprised after many days of inactivity.

Saturday Dec 24

Note
In St. Louis to help my parents move.
Not one thing entered my body over the past three days that wasn't processed, fried, deep fried, placed as a topping on a pizza, or prepackaged. I drank enough pop and coffee to induce a coma in a small child. I need a purification ceremony. On the bright side, when I die I think I took in enough preservatives that I will not decompose for days.
Oh, and did I mention cheap beer. (Is Natural Light actually considered beer?)
C • You call THAT beer! We will ne... 3

Monday Dec 19

Classic Skiing 44:00 [4] 12 km (3:40 / km)
Skied at Como. 2 loops. The tracks were remarkably good. Just a reminder: If you plan to ski on a cold and windy day don't forget your tights and long underwear top. Wind pants and jacket are great for wind, but bad for insulation. Just a little slower on classic than I was the other day skate.
Probably won't have entries the next couple days. Going to St. Louis to help my parents move.

Sunday Dec 18

Skate Skiing 2:15:00 [3] 33 km (4:05 / km)
Skied with Dave at Baker Park. Very cold and very slow, but excellent conditions. 0 degrees or so at the start, my guess would be 5 degrees by the end.

Tuesday Dec 13

Running tempo 14:00 [5] 2.0 mi (7:00 / mi)
Two times 7 minutes with 4 minutes between. Still fighting cold. Lots of coughing. Didn't feel that great. Exercise makes you healthy right?
Running warm up/down 14:00 [2] 1.5 mi (9:20 / mi)
warm-up, cool down and rest time
Strength (ski strength) 10:00 [2]
3 X 25 tricep dips
3 X 25 crunches
3 X 25 each le gsingle leg squats

Hopefully first day of regular strength work. Its minimal but has paid off in the past.

Monday Dec 12

Skate Skiing 45:00 [3] 12 km (3:45 / km)
2 loopss Como. Conditions were very skiable. Saw what I think was a Great Horned Owl. Finished with some technique work. No poles.

Sunday Dec 11

Skate Skiing 2:30:00 [2] 34 km (4:25 / km)
3 loops of the entire trail system at Hyland. Conditions skiable, but deteriorating. Saw two deer and a pileated woodpecker. Still fighting cold

Saturday Dec 10

Skate Skiing 1:30:00 [1] 2 km (45:00 / km)
skiing with Jasper at Hyland. I can enter it because a good chunk was spent pushing and carrying him up hills. A perfect day with Molly and Friends Dave and Susan and their kids.
Skate Skiing (with Chariot) 25:00 [3] 3.5 km (7:09 / km)
Pulled Jasper in the Chariot for one loop of the Lake Trail at Hyland

Wednesday Dec 7

Note
(sick)
feeling crappy, skipped a planned ski.

Tuesday Dec 6

Skate Skiing 1:00:00 [3] 17 km (3:32 / km)
3 loops at Como. Not certain about distance. Chilly night. Conditions were surprisingly good.

Sunday Dec 4

Event: Possum Trot IX

Orienteering race 4:24:00 [4] *** 15 km (17:36 / km) +1000m 13:12 / km
spiked:19/26c
Possum Trot. Great course in challenging terrain. Took an early skip that allowed me to lead for a short time and run with the lead group for awhile. Missed control 12 badly and never really recovered. Made a couple of smaller mistakes and then slowed down to be certain of my course.

- Splits

Saturday Dec 3

Event: Kansas Orienteering Championships

Orienteering race 43:00 [4] *** 5 km (8:36 / km)
spiked:11/16c
Had a good run going at the MOKS Champs until the Micro section. Missed two of 4 and then saw Ian mispunch control 15. I reattacked, but came back to the same control. So I punched, not knowing if there was some mistake. I finshed and found out I had punched a control on the Yellow course 60 meters from the proper control.
Once again I was able to see Ian try to dismatle a fallen tree with his body. Loud and entertaining, but ineffective. Very fun course.

Thursday Dec 1

Other (Ice Skating) 40:00 [2] 3.5 km (11:26 / km)
Ice skating with students from school. No talking, no fun, just skating
