Orienteering 1:11:00 [2] *** 5.0 km (14:12 / km)
spiked:14/15c shoes: Vasque Spur

More tape hanging at Battle Creek. Everything was going well until the rain came. I personally didn't mind getting wet, but when I started it was sunny and I hadn't even thought of putting my map in a bag. Luckily I was on my way back to the car, so I just tucked it under my shirt and put it over a vent to dry as I drove to another parking lot. When I got back out of the car 8 minutes later it was perfectly sunny. Go figure.
Only miss was on one of the small ponds, the vegetaion was so thick I couldn't see exactly where I was or make out the shape of the pond. I decided not to put a control there.

Orienteering 45:00 [2] *** 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
spiked:5/5c shoes: Vasque Spur

Hanging tape for O event at Battle Creek. Highlight was seeing a turkey up in a tree and catching deer eyes glowing in the dark with my headlamp. Even though I know the park pretty well, I had to cut it short to avoid making a mistake because of the dark.

Hiking 50:00 [1] 2.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

Hiking at Seeley Hills with Rena in the backpack while Jasper Mtn biked. Highlights were the perfect weather, Jasper's crash caused by a wet root (they still get me sometimes too), Rena's great attitude in the backpack, and the coolest was seeing Jasper successfully ride down a rocky and rutted hill. Actually I didn't see it. I came to the hill and expected to see his body tangled in his bike halfway down. Instead he was running up from the bottom yelling about how he had ridden it and hadn't even fallen.

Just comparing my mood today to last week after a bad bike o. Maybe I should just hike more in the woods with the kids. But I am also extremely pleased with my run yesterday, so I am sure that has something to do with it.
