Orienteering 47:00 [2]*** 4 km (11:45 / km)
spiked:12/12c shoes: Vasque Blur 2
Checking some controls at Hyland.

Wednesday Apr 23

Mtn Biking (with tagalong and Chariot) 35:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:44 / mi)
Daycare loop AM and PM. Might take the long way home in the afternoon, so I'll add some time hopefully.
Trail Running 26:00 [2] 3.2 mi (8:07 / mi)
shoes: Vasque Blur 2
Running from Richardson Nature Center at Hyland. Made a couple trips up the back side of the ski hills. Thought I was going to have more time after a meeting out that direction.

I rolled my ankle pretty badly early in the run. I need to wait and see how bad it is. Ice and Advil.

Tuesday Apr 22

Trail Running 1:00:00 [2] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Vasque Blur 2
Recovery run. My legs were still really sore from Sunday. Met up with a friend along the trail and ran with him. His dog kept stopping, so the pace slowed significantly. Ended up being exactly what I needed.

Sunday Apr 20

Event: MNOC - Afton State Park

Adventure Race race 4:16:00 [3]*** 23.0 mi (11:07 / mi)
spiked:20/21c
MNOC AR Tune-up. Had a very good return to racing with LAA. Plan was to go steady with no nav mistakes. Result turned out better than expected. It sounds like we made some good time on the paddle and we passed two teams on the bike.
I think we also made up some time on teams on the first control after the paddle. I think some teams went up and around instead of staying in the flat marshy area.
Only miss on a control was 3 minute or so mistake on 18. Used the bench as an attack point and saw a re-entrant junction on what I thought was the right bearing. Quickly saw the trail and used that to get to the control.
Orienteering race 1:24:00 [3] 6.6 km (12:44 / km) +250m 10:42 / km
shoes: Vasque Blur 2
Ran the Red course after about 15 minutes rest from the AR tune-up. In that time I slammed some powerade and a donut. I was tired so I just focused on steady speed and clean navigation. Only had one mistake. I tried to contour from 5 to 6 and I missed it high. I think I might have dragged Pete behind me. Going to 7 I took the LONG route following the trail up the bluff. Cramped at one point, but was very happy with my time.
C • Dragged... maybe 10
