Trail Running 3:00:00 [3] 17.5 mi (10:17 / mi)
shoes: Vasque Blur 2

Long run at Murphy. Started with mtb trail. That took about 1:50. Thought about doing that again, but that would have put at about 3:40 when I had planned for three hours. Went over to the ski trail side and ran whatever trails seemed open. The black flies on that side were horrendous. Finished just before three hours so I went out on the mtb trail side again for 2 minutes out, two minutes back.

Thoughts:
Longest run ever by myself. It was awesome. Not sure if the black flies were mentally helpful because they distracted me from running or if they made it mentally more challenging. What I do know is that capital punishment--of deer flies--has no deterrent effect. Killed about 12--two I caught in my hand while I was just running along.

Felt good the whole way. Knees hurt the last hour, but nothing more than usual.
Ice bath--outstanding.
