Trail Running 43:00 [3] 9.0 km (4:47 / km)
shoes: Vasque Blur 3

Met Veronica and Chris at Hyland. Veronica watched the kids at the playground while I went for a run with Chris. Another in the unexpected workout category. O-folks are great.
Then just hanging at the park until the world shopper was ready to be picked up at the airport. No extra suitcase...that's good.

Orienteering 53:00 [3] *** 4.0 km (13:15 / km)
spiked:8/13c shoes: Vasque Blur 3

I hadn't planned to run a course because i was flying solo with the kids. Just looking for a fun day at the park. then Justin offered to watch the kids (Thanks again), so I took off.
Plenty of excuses, but none of them really worthwhile. I was not clean on any of the first 3 controls, made a big parallel error on number 6 and knew I was in for a long day.

Skipped from control 8 to 16 so as not to be out to long. Clean to the end. Glad I wasn't pushing as hard up the hill as folks who had a decent time going.

It was a great day at the park and happy to have gotten out on a course at all.
Everybody slept well from all the activity.

Mtn Biking (Road) 1:10:00 [3] 28.0 km (2:30 / km)

From Remote location. Checking out upcoming course

Trail Running 1:15:00 [2] 6.0 km (12:30 / km)
shoes: Vasque Blur 4

Course checking. I really think my nice long workout today will play to my advantage at Afton tomorrow. It is often the case that I have energy to burn there, so this should encourage me to slow down and keep in touch with the map.

Getting out early to volunteer (10:30 right?) with the kids should shake out any cobwebs from my dietary change. Some might say I am working ahead to paddling events with Rush River bubble Jack.

Mtn Biking (Road) 20:00 [1] 3.0 mi (6:40 / mi)

After driving to a remote location, Asst. Race Director Jasper and I biked to check location of a challenge for the Tough Persyn.

Other 5:00 [1] 0.02 km (4:10:00 / km)

How exactly does one log crawling in a culvert? Did I mention a headlamp is going to be needed for the Tough Persyn.

After overcoming his reasonable fear, Jasper followed me in.

Orienteering (setting,) 1:25:00 [3] 7.0 km (12:09 / km)

Program at Wirth for City of Lakes. It was a blast and the kids did really well. They did a lot of climb and were totally jazzed at the end.

Orienteering 47:00 [3] *** 6.8 km (6:55 / km)
spiked:10/11c shoes: Vasque Blur 3

Very fun circuit course set by Waima and Molly. Had to short cut because of low light. Skipped from 7-12. I will run this again on my own. Good workout.
