Supposed to be a rest day, but when in the Lake District it is compulsary to go up a big hill!!

Half day hike, enjoyable, and well within my capability. Will have to re-schedule Monday training as felt tired at the end...

Early morning road run in the Lake District to the bottom of the Kirkstone pass from Glenridding......
Not massive hills, but a bit undulating
Felt quite good!! (despite the beer I had the previous day)

Let myself down (again) and had three pints in the afternoon...

30 minutes on treadmill, first 15 minutes at 12kph, second 15 minutes at 13kph, felt okay..........

Might up my running speed from 12 to 12.5 for all runs next week?

Long Road Run
Missed my turn to make it a 14mile run, so ended up running 17.9 miles.
Felt fine all of the way out, kept a constant steady pace.
Took my gel at 9 miles, and felt good for the next four miles (no stops)
Hit the wall a bit at Brockham but kept going - couple of short breaks, punchbowl hill was hard but ran all the way up....
Ice bath when I got back home - legs throbbing

Lunchtime run -

Local route, first tim I have tried it.... Worked well, slightly hilly, pleased that I did not stop once, despite the large hill on the back half of the run....

Have a cold, runny nose (explains the lack of breath yesterday on build run)

45 minutes total
15 minutes at 11kph
15 minutes at 12kph
15 minutes at 13kph
Last 7 minutes were hard

Left Hamstring was tight at lower speeds, but eased up as I took longer strides at 13kph.... Perhaps an issue with treadmills?

Room was hot, felt the short of breath (will use inhaller tomorrow)

Long run up and over Leith Hill again, stopped for a cup of tea at the top.... Felt strong so did a small lap around the top of the hill......
Discovered Isostar Energy Gels - wow - talk about a massive energy hit, and no low in the 5 miles post taking gel.
Raining, loads of oxygen, loved the run.....
Good steady pace, with a lot of climb....
Walks were generally very short

Hour on Tread mill before work - split into 30 minutes on a automated climb / flat course and 30 minutes on a wholey flat course.

Felt okay, but tired at the end, minutes 55 to 59 were particularly hard with my quads really aching

Hilly Route, Dorking up to Leith Hill and back around on the Greensand Way
Legs felt like lead weights for the first few miles but came good at mile 3
Did not take water which was a mistake, really tired out at about 10.5 miles.
