Note

Hmmm... feeling a bit of a soar throat. Worried I'm getting Venus' nasty cough, which wouldn't be a surprise especially with my office mate also hacking up a storm these days, less than 8feet from me for 9hrs a day.

Hoping to still get out and do the rally run this evening. I've let the speed work fallout from under me. Gotta regroup here!

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2]

Running tempo 25:22 [4]

TOTNT - Solo Rally Run
...too tired to go get the watch from upstairs. Will enter the splits and particulars tomorrow. I think it was just sub 25:30 if I recall correctly.

...okay, got the splits. Not a new PB, but very happy with the effort/result with a month away from any speed work and a less than two weeks since the E2C Rogaine.

West Loop: 11:29.84 (Cm. 11:29.84)
East Loop: 11:12.89 (Cm. 22:42.73)
UOTV: 02:39.64 (Cm. 25:22.37)

Seems I sped up with the later loops, posting my fastest split for "UOTV". Indicates to me that I should really just find the time for a longer warmup, which would also probably help with the ongoing TFL issues.

Note
(rest day)

Had planned some orienteering our near Milton and some paddling on Lake Ont. today, but what the heck... a whole day at home with Venus and Superfly George is much better.

Running long 2:00:00 [3]

DV Saturday morning run with the GHO gang. However, was only Bob and me. Hastytime ran with us for a bit at the start but shortly thereafter branched off to do his own thing. What a glorious morning! Bob is a strong runner and it seemed she was pushing the pace up a notch a little towards the end, but luckily the body has more or less recovered from last weekend and it didn't complain ...too much.

Rounded out the drive home by going via the co-op for a few goodies ...always dangerous going into that store!

Cycling warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Almost ate the guardrail at River and Bayview thanks to a driver that turned too wide, despite the extremely wide birth of space I was allowing him/her. Complete wheel lockup ...not sure how I managed to stay on the bike. I shared a subtle disclosure of my thoughts verbally with the driver and a waved the "you're #1" sign at him/her (...I might have used the wrong finger in retrospect). Luckily the driver directly behind us watched the whole dance unfold and was sympathetic as they past, asking if I was alright (I'm glad that not everyone drives like an a-hole in Toronto)

Cycling hills 45:00 [4]

Beachwood Dr. repeats; got in 16 steady paced climbs in the 45min.

Cycling (LSD Ride) 1:00:00 [1]

Not sure that I should include this, but was a great ride up the Don Valley bike path at the posted max speed of 20km/hr enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of everyone out for family BBQs in the park. Very tempted to stop in on the family that was cooking meat on a sword ...after you've eaten, swords for everyone!
