Orienteering 2:25 [3] ** 0.25 mi (9:40 / mi) +1m 9:33 / mi
13c shoes: Saucony Guide 8

Closed out my controls goal with an afternoon ultrasprint in our yard provided as a family gift by Aragorn. A hand-drawn map with some very non ISOM drawing laid out a fun course. Several tries, then running it as a memory-O which was faster than trying to mentally disassembling the web of connector lines on the map. Best time given.

Jog 10 [3] 1.0 mi (10 / mi) +4m 10 / mi

more laps of the sprint

Walk 17:00 [1] 1.0 mi (17:00 / mi)

Did something walking indoors to tweak my back a bit?!! Seems to be not getting worse, so I am expecting that it will get better quickly. Decided to go for a slow ride anyhow, its the holidays!

Final round of field checking with Aragorn for Belzer and the Skiles/BSA headquarters addition. Surprisingly, this map will be ready to go for January.

Belzer field checking part 1 -- Really sweet new contours, lots of invisible rootstocks, but most of the remainder is quite good.

Cricket Holler score-O
Meet 30, course 48

First time on this map, very fun.

Tentative start to the MVOC night-O at Cricket Holler; I just couldn't adjust to the map glare at the beginning. Parts were pretty quick moving and, at 1:5000, many of the controls appeared very quickly with their solar bright tape. A bit slow digging through the honeysuckle to 7 and 18, probably losing a bit and the sequence after control 5 was not right. A minute or two behind Matt Bond and just before Mike. Ben Bond did a nice job planning the course.
7 PM

Orienteering race 35:50 [3] *** 1.88 mi (19:02 / mi) +41m 17:50 / mi
5c shoes: Luath Blue XTalon 212s

Search and destroy; 4 C and then zipped out for one more (oddly) remaining control.
