A last minute decision to do this with Aragorn this week. Skipped the morning 5k (he did not skip), so I would have as much as I could have in my legs. I honestly didn't know whether this would go ok or be a bust but we were consistent about 60-70% of the flats and downhills and only occasional hills (ate regularly and used lots of agua). A will probably give details but there were about 25-30 min of lost time. Some controls were in the circle but not on the feature expected which led to some problems that we overcame seemingly a bit better than some other teams; likely 10 min were unforced errors (the biggest was C31, the lowest value control on a bland, broad, steep, and locally green re-entrant in the dark). Managed to convince A to push to the 2nd to last control #83, a long out and back to the foothills of Mt. Liberty. Decided that we didn't have enough legs or time to get the final control partway up the mountain. Finished with 7 min to spare 1320 pts out of 1390. Finished first in the team division and 2nd overall. Too warm but avoided most of the greener places (even taking long run-arounds to do it) making the night good fun!
