Meet 30, course 42

Awesome that we have a new regional club. Went to check out their first non-sprint meet on a pretty fall day. Accidentally grabbed the red map rather than blue and never realized anything different until we started to do course review. The course was entertaining many sprinty/control-picking legs that were often more orange-feeling. I had two legs with mistakes on them but most of my lost time was in not moving; I found that I needed a lot of extra time with the small CD boxes and dot-matrix printing (whether I feel old or not, my eyes can be a limiting factor). Fell very hard on the way to 21 on a trail while reading my map (done this so many times now; maybe I need a helmet!) As a consequence, one of my right ribs is bruised or cracked. At this point, ibuprofen is all I am doing. An x-ray would cost >$200 and likely lead to the diagnosis go home, take ibu and keep trying to breathing (saying this to OJoy lead to us both breaking out in laughter which was pretty painful). I can take deep breaths so I should be fine.

Ankle is 100%.

Heavy yard work 30:00 [1]

Decompressed by dealing with leaves by headlamp with OJoy; made a good start on pass one. It was a comfortable evening so there is a case to be made for us still being sane.

Legs felt pretty lively today; maybe some runs longer than 2 mi are back in my future.
