This was a very complicated sprint starting through the castle gate into the ruined grounds. The first half was very slow, due to steepness and the overwhelming map detail. After the cobblestone bridge, the pace and style became more familiar.

First run in Bulgaria....an uncomfortable experience given that it was a new area, I couldn't read the signs or speak the language if I ended up some place unexpected

A very green and steep hillside with a smattering of features and a nascent mountain bike trail system.

morning jog on the Nordskov map, casually reading. A bit longer than intended since when I started I was conscious of the fact that I was beginning near the morning training start. The problem was that I had the afternoon training map and then I finished at the start, which was 2 miles from my intended finish. Then it was time to really run so I wouldn't hold up the group!
