OO Day 2 Slaley Hall Brown

Quite a contrast; fast running throughout. Strange section of outdoor activity paraphenalia.

Just a couple of issues really:
#13 Didn't trust white so went north to path, but dithered (and white was seemingly good) [20]
#16 Whilst cutting corner spotted fallen trees with wall beyond. Thought it might have been boundary south of line but that made no sense with regard to compass. Came to a halt then proceeded cautiously. Should have just carried on as it was an unmapped section of wall adjacent to the path I wanted and the fallen trees were similarly unmapped [30]

Edged out by Chas by 8s.

OO Day 1 Simonside Black

Very tough going throughout with deep heather in the open areas and fallen trees or bracken in the wood. Might have battled harder had there been more of an incentive but instead settled into a steady trudge,

#2 Went in an open patch too early, but realised and managed to correct [20]
#3 Came off path before bend so ended up looking too far from it initially [30]
#5 Several significant unmapped features found en route, but had the confidence to ignore them.
#9 Went round 'fight' which was seemingly more like 'minor inconvenience' [30]
#12 Took on additional climb to avoid heather. Hard to know if it was worth it as depth of heather was quite variable.
#22 Had checked out the 'heavy undergrowth' on the straight line when near #19 and it looked ok so took it on.
#23 Biggest error. Loss of concentration / not looking at compass and tempted east to wrong set of crags... [120]

Managed to scrape ahead of Kris Smith, whomever he may be, by 26s!
