Adventure Race 17:58:00 [3] 85.0 mi (12:41 / mi)

PADDLE 1
start on the beach. maps on a pontoon boat 150m off shore. get in boats and sprint to the pontoon, we made it 2nd place! (1st went to Michigan single-bladers Barb and Joe...impressive!!) then plot 4 points while in boat and go get em. fairly straightforward. took out in 3rd-ish.

BIKE 1
a v well-designed bike leg i thought. lots of choice and good use of trails/roads. although the trails were wet, sloppy, and not really fun. made it thru w decent nav, just no pep in my legs.

CHALLENGE 1
"Crossroads Orienteering". a really cool challenge back at TA. hard to describe and i can't find a good link for it. but pretty cool and we had fun w it.

PADDLE 2
back in the boats for a tour of the south side of Cagles Mill Lake. super strong tailwind to start. got our CPs w minimal issues. wind was less on the return trip but still had to work for it.

TREK 1
trek to finish things up. a cluster of CPs around TA and then one far out n back road run for CP30. we knew we would be close on time but went for it. had to skip the final CP due to time but "enjoyed" the sprint to the finish.

overall a clean race from us but not especially speedy. great job to BW and Rib for kicking our butts!
