yaaaaaaassssss beat the sun!!!

ideal weather, wind, and road conditions.

caught up to Erl just before CP3, then again at the CP, then i left before so he caught me before the finish and motored on.

i rode the sick/not sick effort level all day. was on the bubble (in my mind) for the sun cutoff and didn't want to barely miss it. so pushed and ate and drank. my goal was to eat and drink enough to never get negative, which really worked. the second a negative thought crossed my mind i ate or drank something. if my tummy was hurting that was just water. Arby's chicken fingers were the MVP snack of the day.

i also did mental math every half hour to check my current avg speed/distance vs what i needed to make the cutoff. it kept me occupied, focused, and motivated. i ate the elephant 30 minutes at a time.

even though i was on the bubble all day, a tailwind on leg 4 really built a comfort zone so i wasn't panicking in the last 5 miles.

14:03 moving time. we used the crew for hire when made TAs a bit slower but they were relatively smooth, i had a personal helper at each stop. just takes longer to re-fill bottles than to simply swap out.

no mechanicals. really really happy to have a day when everything comes together!!!!!
