Orienteering race 55:42 [4] 8.7 km (6:24 / km) +400m 5:12 / km
shoes: Inov Oroc 280
Swiss relay champs in God Surlej.
Last leg - could go out ca 2min after Daniele after good races from Snowpatriot and Raphi.
Could catch up Daniele with a solid start at the 4th and shortly afterwards we caught two other runners. Was most of the time in the defense trying to stay close with optimized route choices. This worked pretty well until the last route choice back were I lost 40sec to Daniele. He offered me a last chance by doing a 30sec mistake to the next control just before the spectator control and the last 3min loop. Tried to push as hard as possible, closed the gap again at the 2nd last control but was dying with no possibilities to react left.
Hence had to accept the defeat by the 1997 guys - next year next chance:)
Nice orienteering in rocky but still fast alpine forest around 1800m above sea.
