Sunday Oct 16 #

2 to 3k of compacted metalled tracks yesterday, wasn't ideal for my calf. Fingers crossed the damage is superficial.

Saturday Oct 15 #

Orienteering race 36:17 [4] 3.6 km (10:05 / km)

Bramshill - BKO - 95% of the area was shaded or solid green!!! Added to which 60% was reclaimed land with parallel ridges and they were the better bits. There seemed to be more ridges on the map than on the ground and three controls appeared to between the wrong ridges (the mapper deserves a medal) but leaving the controls the map fitted. Didn't lose much time as a result. 9 required crossing a 8 foot wide 10 feet below the track level ditch, I went 200m further to avoid it. No errors, apart from ridge counting, wossing on ditches and not going more direct on 2 (60s). Enjoyed the challenge. 10 min/k would have placed me around 5th on the blue.

Calf has been sore the last two days and afterwards. Hope its just more nerve entrapment issues.

Warm Up 10:00 [2]

Friday Oct 14 #

Swimming 10:00 [3] 0.3 km (33:20 / km)

Aqua Running 10:00 [3]

Mixed the pool running b/w the swimming, creating alternating intervals. Forgotten how hard it is and it usually gets harder the more you do it. Only had 20 mins for the whole session.

Made huge and unexpected progress over the last six weeks. Now able to walk the following day after a race without any worries, beyond the usual post race tightness and muscle aches. Plan to start a modest mid-week session.
