Orienteering 48:14 [4] 5.0 km (9:39 / km) +110m 8:41 / km

Mitre - Epping East - Short Blue
1 - was on the linear marsh leading down to the stream so quickly, I assumed it was nothing. Overshot and lost 2 mins.
2 - 2nd quickest for 6 min leg!
4 - sums up my current technical ability - changed mind a few times, not confident about an 800m bearing, so wimped out on winding paths, losing a good 30-45s. Then missed control, going in off a path, careless! Another 90s plus.
All clean into the remaining 10 controls, and no time lost in the circle, but hesitant between. Sort of sums up current technique - clean and accurate when I put my mind to it and having to take time getting the macro-O right.

Left ankle tendons/ligaments were wrenched twice and had to favour right leg, so didn't enjoy it as much as I should have. CV fitness was pretty woeful too, walking up hills and feeling queasy. Probably work/stress related as not getting enough sleep etc.

Time to reassess whether I should be running, now I can ride. Riding should gradually strengthen calf muscles, which is the underlying issue.

Warm Up 10:00 [1]

Barely jogging.

Swimming 18:00 [3] 0.6 km (30:00 / km)

SSP

Aqua Running 6:00 [2]

50m lengths, followed by 60s "running". Could feel hamstrings were tight from cycling, so kept movement restricted.

Cycling 59:00 [2] 15.0 mi (3:56 / mi) +175m 3:48 / mi
shoes: Giant Defy 1

E Clandon-Ripley-Send- zero degs, careful about ice. Had a close shave between a frozen puddle covering the bike lane, and an overtaking 4wd squeezing inside the traffic island. Held my line - had no choice! Sun out and warmed up fine, toes apart. Made a great change from work. Raised saddle again, still far too low, but starting to make a difference on hills.
