Orienteering 43:30 [4] 4.8 km (9:04 / km) +180m 7:38 / km

Hambledon Chiltern Challenge - Green
Mare of a journey and arrived at start with full bladder 15 mins after last start and was able to choose map and chose Green. With hindsight, short blue (M65) was only 0.8k longer. Back painless again running and quads were OK too. Starting to get a feel for technique weaknesses & remedies. Good course on quality area. A lot of low vegetation & branches that put a premium on strength that I still lack- WIP.
1 -30s, didn't read desc & overshot veg boundary.
4. -60s, went for a pee & too hesitant.
7. -45s, yet was quickest. Was 100m too far R and hit path. Must have been slow direct?
8. -30s, very hestitant early on, then cut in too early was too high and hard going.
10. -10s hesitant about track.
11. -60s, correct elephant tracks seemed to go too far L & drifted/dragged to R, then thought minor crag was quarry to S.
Best legs were through the hard going terrain. Need to get head up & better large feature mental picture.

Warm Up 5:00 [2] 0.6 km (8:20 / km)

Jog to start & zero stretching- not a problem after 4 days rest.

Note

Both quads feel as though doms might be progressing to something more and mirror each other- probably compensating too much for back. Better off not racing on Sunday.

Orienteering warm up/down 1:02:27 [3] 6.9 km (9:03 / km) +80m 8:33 / km
ahr:142 max:150

The Slab Army - Blue 6.9k 80m, area covered in ponds, marshes often on optimum route.
Took it as a training race and enjoyed it. Only lost touch with map twice and relocated easily. Had a good rhythm.
2 x 40s, 2 x 30s, plus some 15 & 10s. Most after stopping within 20-40m of control.
Body struggling to cope with back, fingers crossed I gain 30s plus a k when it's sorted.

Note

A new chiro booked in a week, normal chiro booked solid for a month- not surprised, he ticks every box. Back gives no pain running, yet not particularly enjoying running for last 2 weeks and interfering with sleep.

weight:72.9lbs

Calves slightly sore, recent rain is keeping ground from getting too hard.
