1.5 hours of turning a wild meadow into something approaching a lawn.

Tendon at fibular head by knee aggravated by cycling and not able to fully bend on waking. Felt this go when I finally fell sideways off the bank last week, but up till now a side show to the physio and me. Frustrating array of injuries from a complex fall- spin followed by a sideways fall all on one ankle/leg.

Rehab 30:00 [1]

Cycling 22:00 [2] 10.5 km (2:06 / km)

Static bike in gym around 125w. Kept it short and an easy effort in case it aggravated injuries in front of ankle.

Weights 30:00 [3]

Upper body.

NHS prostatectomy booked for August. Couldn't face the other option, consisting of internal and external radiotherapy, with 18 months of hormone therapy (zero testerone!). Without the hormone therapy, I'd have chosen the rediotherapy option. Surgeon is confident that being a slim and athletic, the initial incontinence will be much shorter and the robotically assisted surgery could half the op time. Just hope I can further improve his already good patient recovery stats!

Rehab 30:00 [1]

2 x exercises, 1 x icing

Saw Waqaar for physio assessment. Grade 2 tear of ATFL and possible damage to ligament/temdon outside fibular. Fibula is catching on talus. ATFL injury was my guess soon after it happened.
Exercises: Alphabet slowly. Calf bend rear leg stretch. Forward dorsiflexion carefully. Balance single leg. 3 to 6 weeks. Avoid rough ground. Compression all day. Raise lunchtime & evening. Icing. Reduce swelling to help ROM.

Monday May 13 #

Too active yesterday, more than usual- walking, gardening & awkward car DIY. Ankle painful this morning.
