Sunday Jun 16 #

Walking 36:00 [0] 1.6 km (22:30 / km) +60m 18:57 / km
slept:9.5 weight:68.6lbs (injured)

Pelvic girdle required constant massage to get up St Martha's.

Was thinking about a humorous Strava comment from someone who was also recovering from surgery, that we would soon be having zimmer frame races, when 5 mins later I saw an old woman doggedly approaching the 10% section of St Martha's Hill using a wheeled zimmer frame cum shopping basket. In 25 years, I'd not seen anything like this being attempted. Life can very be weird and humbling...

Saturday Jun 15 #

Walking 39:00 [1] 3.3 km (11:49 / km)
slept:8.5 weight:69lbs (injured)

2.5k lap of Rushmoor in around 29mins, plus walk to/from CP. Stopped a few times to relax muscles. Nice to get out to enjoy some normality. ATFL worse since operation.

Note

A difficult afternoon & evening, just when you think things are on the up. So many side affects from immediate surgical anatomical changes and plus many more gradual changes.

Friday Jun 14 #

Note

Saw GP who thought it was unlikely the egg sized umbilical bulge is anymore than a result of procedure and will soften with time. Time & future symptoms will tell.

Walking 25:00 [1] 1.35 km (18:31 / km) +90m 13:53 / km
ahr:80 max:85 slept:7.5 weight:68.6lbs (injured)

Slow walking on treadmill, eventually reaching 15% and a HR of a mere 85.

Walking 22:00 [1] 1.4 km (15:43 / km) +65m 12:45 / km

St. Martha's Hill

Thursday Jun 13 #

Walking 25:00 [0] 1.8 km (13:53 / km)
slept:6.0 weight:68.6lbs (injured)

Planned 10th day DIY catheter removal this morning turned out to be painless and straightforward- what a relief! Booked GP appt about possible umbilical hernia. Most likely firming up slim waist is just emphasing normal egg sized hard area that softens in following months.
Not much walking, too much tightness. Drove car!

Wednesday Jun 12 #

Walking 58:00 [0] 4.1 km (14:09 / km)
slept:7.75 weight:69lbs (injured)

Tuesday Jun 11 #

Walking 54:00 [0] 3.8 km (14:13 / km)
slept:8.25 weight:68.7lbs (injured)

Including 2k walk to the horses and beyond. Amazed how tired I am after just 10mins.

Monday Jun 10 #

Walking 41:00 [0] 3.0 km (13:40 / km)
slept:8.5 weight:69.1lbs (injured)
