Couldn't face another solo interval session so went to the parkrun, hoping to see that bad feelings this week wouldn't be reflected in the time but also fully expecting to struggle. Did struggle, legs felt awful from the beginning and just had to grind it out to a very dissapointing time. Don't quite understand how a solid 4/5 weeks of training just seemed to disapear after one week of hardly anything.

5 x ~1km loop on Matley, undulating and taking in some heather and sand. Felt awful from the start and gradually got worse and worse. Legs felt bad, breathing felt really laboured and form seemed all over the place. Don't know whether its just sharpness or actual fitness I lost last week but it's ruined the confidence I had in my shape.

Easy on Acres Down. Load of cows blocking the road on the way out and one of them started charging at me. Turned to run away but fell over, said my goodbyes but luckily managed to get up and survive. Then later on got swooped by some massive bird, must have been an eagle / falcon or whatever but was pretty scary.

Note

Been in Croatia. It was hot, too bloody hot. Did a few runs but getting up at 7 was still too late to avoid 30+ degrees so I spent most of my time putting in big tanning hours.
