Note
(rest day)

Intended on morning running but couldn't wake up when alarm went off. Worst of both worlds - alarm at 7, snoozing at 10min intervals til half 8. Don't get the benefit of longer sleep or a run. Oh well. Travelling to SIPR tonight.

Ken-nam Style handicap on the Seat.

Love the handicap idiosyncrasies and the notion of finding the optimum micro routes, hence the extensive recceing and research with Colm. Executed all the lines well. The left hand gully followed by purple line to first checkpoint didn't seem to reap the expected rewards, but I'm confident the line off Whinny was the best. 50/50 on the Crags cut - didn't feel great but seems to have made up some time.

Not the best physical feels, perhaps to be expected as first real hard effort in a wee while. Felt like had gone off hard - had caught Dash at Dunsapie and nearly JT and Colm by the time of exiting the park. Felt reasonably strong up Whinny but perhaps made a tactical error to summit with Dash just behind. Colm popped out just ahead of Queens Drive so had gained some ground, but couldn't quite close the gap through the bog. Half intentional, as felt a bit too close to red line, but don't think I could have pushed much harder regardless. Dropped by Colm and Dash up the Crags - not helped by my complacency of sitting in when passing people. Kieran came alongside towards upper reaches of Crags climb, just about managed to hold on and then repassed him on the descent. First half of the final drag to the finish went well - slowly reeling in Colm and Dash, thought that looked possible and then just heavy legs set in as Dash pulled away from Colm.

Great fun!
