Orienteering/Bushwack 5:30:00 [3] 25.0 km (13:12 / km)

Horrendous Day course clearing with slight post rockstar hangover and general volunteer exhaustion. At least I grabbed a bunch of CPs by pontoon boat, foot, boat and bike in combinations not permitted on race day. I would have preferred helicopter drop offs but Creative ideas for next year have been entered into the suggestion box. Good practice for Wilderness traverse bushwacking exhausted and dehydrated.

It is so much fun to see everybody giving 'ER out there at the novelty CPs and breaking race face for a few minutes.

Came out of Ultimate frisbee retirement to help out zeman. Fun times, Taking a break from the usual training routin, and we won the game.

Note to file - this stupid sport makes my hamstring - piriformis muscles scream bloody murder.

Furnace run in heat wave at Kelso. Snuck into quarry for quick dip.

Über long transition to bike, then quick bike ride through kelso and up Steeles. Broke rear shifter on way down. Walk of shame back up Steeles, no gears, no gumption to push through.

York River Paddle Challenge

Awesome training day with the boys and Katie to take on the first annual York River Challenge, with Bruce and I paddling a tug boat with my new Simon River paddle. Needless to say we came in at the back of the pack, the canoe marathoners really showed us up good.

STORM took first in the kayak class!

Ride with Kathie from Caledon hills with a rental since my bike is in the shop due to a bent rotor. Fun riding in the hot rain and a few good climbs up the escarpment. Stupid thing was I was given a heavy FSR bike for a road ride with some rail trail action and never even got to try out the rear suspension. Even stupider thing was I wiped out turning on a gravel road and bent the rotor on the rental. Road rash makes me sad.

Super hot. The 50Kers should all get double maple syrup for that hot box horror show. I would love to see this course re-routed to include more trails, or possibly a run totally in the mad river! Bronze medal for STORM, woo hoo.

Short ride at Bark Lake on the 4 hour course. We have now improved the trail where possible after 1 day of back breaking manual labour.
