Sweetwater Preserve

Bash and I rented fancy bikes from Homegrown Cycles and I got a specialized FS 29er carbon 1x11 complete with an inframe toolkit. The rental inventory in Tucson was not that good for large groups or small frames and so we had no choice but to go with the best!

The weather started deteriorating today but we got out before the hard rain hit to Sweetwater Preserve, which is a semi rural park nestled in the foothills of Saguaro National Park just below (ish) Wasson Peak. The park is surrounded by a few houses but is all single track, very well marked and was a great flowy ride.

More great photos are in Bash's log!

Trek 2:45:00 [3] 12.5 km (13:12 / km)

Much easier and slower hike with Bash up to Wasson Peak inside Saguora National Park, with beautiful views in all directions of the mountain ranges that surround Tucson.

Yoga 30:00 [3]

More Hotel Yoga, but today we moved to a different corner of the hotel property to catch what would turn out to be our last rays of sunshine in Tucson! It was so great to have Mrs. Gally guide us through a customized class just for our achy legs!

*** TUCSON VACATION ***

Bear Canyon Loop (counter clockwise up Bear Canyon over the ridge and down Sabino Canyon) - Cristina guided us through Tucson trail runners favourite loop. We got to see a javelina (not a pig) right off the start! Less fit runners can even hop on a tram for the last 5 km back down Bear Canyon side.

The trail was bone dry for us but later in the week when we got a ton of rain there was a water rescue required in here, something that Cristina warned us could happen if we went running in canyons when its raining!

I took a dive at the top and think I broke my baby finger.

See Bash's log for photos!

Yoga 45:00 [3]

Hotel Yoga Led by "Yoga Instructors in Training", Mrs. Gally. Loved it, as did the old guy on the second floor of the hotel.
