Orienteering race (rogaine) 2:45:00 [1] ***
shoes: New Balance 717s
White Mountains 3-hour Rogaine w/ Trish (Big Lake, AZ)
We were both tired from yesterday and Trish's shoes were causing her foot problems, so moved a little slower than the day before. We received the maps 20 minutes in advance of the race, and after deciding on a route pretty early on, I changed my mind and chose a completely different route with less than a minute before the start - not a good idea (in fact, a terrible idea), but it probably didn't cost us too much in the end - maybe one 4-5 point control and some navigation mistakes at the second control due to a poor route choice and not having given Trish a chance to study the course in advance.
