Sunday Oct 8

Note
LAOC: Topanga
Orienteering race 1:26:17 [3]4.4 km (19:37 / km) +130m 17:05 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana
Topanga Red Course.
Technically easy navigation with a poor/outdated map (in control circles!) and hidden controls. I lost 10 minutes each on two controls where I was in the right place but just couldn't see the flag literally 3m away. I didn't feel confident enough in my navigation and so kept re-attacking the same area instead of doing a "grid search" which would have been the better tactic. I also had lots of small misses and mental mistakes probably in part because of my frustration. I need to work on getting over such feelings when something doesn't go as planned.

Saturday Oct 7

Running 1:46:20 [3]13.0 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno W.N. w/ superfeet
w/ training group around Mission Bay. Second half a good bit faster than first half.

Thursday Oct 5

Running 34:39 [3]4.53 mi (7:38 / mi)
shoes: Nike Run Dual-D
from work to Trish's work
minor/moderate hip and side stitch pain

Wednesday Oct 4

Running tempo 31:23 [4]4.4 mi (7:08 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno W.N. w/ superfeet
started at a good clip and kept speeding up throughout the course. sprinting hard at end. moderate calf pain, but it never affected me too much. worse was the hip pain which caused me to limp at the end I think. left foot went numb in last mile or so, but again didn't slow me much. What surprised me the most was how good I felt aerobically.
Running 25:30 [2]
shoes: Mizuno W.N. w/ superfeet
w/ Trish, hip sore

Monday Oct 2

Running 38:25 [3]4.4 mi (8:44 / mi)
calves got painfully tight - walked some (included). frustrating. ran too fast at first though which caused the problem in part.
