Sunday Sep 27, 2009 #

Running 1:10:00 [3] 8.5 mi (8:14 / mi)
shoes: Omni6

Went with Kirsten to a nice run in Briones Park. We kept up a pretty good pace, in some really steep and sun-exposed terrain. Turns out the Eric, from Fleet Feet was organizing the run, was nice to chat with him for a bit.

This gets me about 24 miles in two days - a pretty solid weekend.

Running 4:00:00 [3] 14.7 mi (16:20 / mi)
shoes: Omni6

Great long trail run at Point Reyes. Can't believe I waited 3 years to come here. We had a nice easy pace, and brought more than enough food...
Started from Five Brooks trail and ran out to Wildcat Beach and then a mile along the beach to Alamere Falls. The falls were quite pretty with lots of moss.

Trails were nice soft single track, especially Greenpicker trail and the Coast trail. Lots of Doug Fir. Kind of similar to what you might find in the Northern Mac Forest, or Dunn forest. The horse traffic was a little high though,

Weather was warm and sunny, I got a little bit of sunburn.

TAC 1:00:00 [3]

TAC class again. I really like this workout.

I think it's well structured, and the inclusion of jumping, lateral movement, core strength, and stairs should theoretically contribute to strong terrain running. I hope it will encourage recovery and prevent injury too.

Pretty easy orange course at Presidio with lots of road running.
I feel a little sore after the TAC class yesterday.

TAC 1:00:00 [3]

I came to the running club workout, but everyone was late, so I did the total fitness class. It was pretty fun actually. Jumping up stairs, jogging laps, core strength, etc... Less boring than interval training for sure, and probably more productive right now, since my left leg is still bugging me a little.

Running 25:00 [3] 3.5 mi (7:09 / mi)
shoes: Omni6

Ran out and back to the fire trail bench from the math research center. I was out during dusk, and the evening reminded me of campfire nights at Pioneer. The view of Mt Tam was quite nice, a light blue bay with bright yellow backlight. The bats were also out.

I was planning to go fairly slow, but on the return trip I found myself running quite quickly, probably well under 7 minutes per mile. There was still a bit of irritation on the left side, but otherwise the pace felt great.

Strength 20:00 [3]

A quick round of lifting and core strength iron works. Was planning to climb, but only brought one shoe. Followed this up with a much needed sauna.

Running 35:00 [3] 4.2 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: Omni6

Went on a nice trail run (Redwood - Grizzly Peak route) with the new neighbor. She is quite a good runner.

Biking 2:00:00 [2]

Very nice start to the day, Redwood-Wildcat ride.

Friday Sep 4, 2009 #

Running 25:00 [3] 2.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Short run on the Selby loop. Leg upper has still got some irritation. Will hopefully loosen things up for a real run tomorrow morning.

Wednesday Sep 2, 2009 #

Running 1:20:00 [3] 7.0 mi (11:26 / mi)
shoes: Omni6

Finally finished vetting the Wildcat course. It was hard getting out of town, so I finished in the twilight. Had to skip one control, but I'm pretty sure it's ok.

I ran for about half an hour along with a girl who is training for the portland marathon, which was fun. The trail is much less boring with good conversation.
