Note

Hmmph. After feeling great all day, I did the ice massage, and the foot started hurting again.

Cardiomachines 7:30 [2]

Strength 18:00 [3]

Some upper body work.

Note

In Berkeley this week (tuesday-fri). The meeting has been going well.
Unfortunately I've slacked off the ice-ibuprofein regimen during the trip.

However, my foot has seemed to improve a bit. Still a hint of soreness, but only for 15 minutes or so in the morning. It's felt pretty good since my last log entry, even wearing the old orange shoes.
I'm tenatively hoping that it will be safe to start limited running after another two weeks of rest, ice, and antiflamitories.

Note

Based on advice of past week, I am starting a regimen of twice daily ice massage on foot, and restarting ibuprofin, this time in much larger doses. Also streching calve and achilles muscles multiple times during the day.

Note

Saw the sports docter today. Focus was back on metatarsal, where the pain is. Doc thinks in is related to excessive supination - funny since the last guy thought I pronated a little. My mechanics are bizarre, but I guess that's expected based on my goofy stride.

Note

Saw a physical trainer today about left foot. He tried some stuff with realinging the cubiod, but didn't seem to make a difference. Tomorrow I try the MD.

Orienteering (Mapping) 3:00 [1]

Spent a few hours at fitton green and did some more mapping.

Orienteering 3:00 [1]

3 hours setting controls for avery park meet.

Orienteering (Mapping) 1:30 [1]

Mapping at fitton green. I'm taking a fresh stab at the wooded area, using much broader, more general strokes. I like the results better.
Left foot was aching a little by the end

Biking 1:00:00 [1]

Road out on 53rd, and took Brooklane to the
Marys River floodplane park, which I had never visited before.
Stooped a Avery park to do some course preparation on the way back.

Biking 20:00 [2]

Took the long way home from work, out past covered bridge and walnut. The orienteering flags are still out there, but have been moved to new sites. Based on some of their choices, the course setters cleary don't recognize poison oak in the winter.
