Running 25:00 [3]
shoes: Orange Sauconys
I headed out to EE Wilson intending to do something on flat ground, but Coffin Butte cast a stench in the air that withered my enthusiam.
When I drove back and stopped at Winco I was feeling more motivated, and the powerline trail called my name. I explored the backtrails on timberhill property. It was great, despite an ache in my right calf from last week's hills and yesterday's drive.
It was really fun with twisty overgrown trails and a huge doug firs canopy. Somebody cut down most of the blackberry thickets on the new forested section of our Chip Ross map. I'm afraid that this is just the first step toward million dollar houses with 5 acre lawns. I saw some beautiful deer, including a pair of 3-point bucks, but it felt sad knowing what's coming. I wonder if they can tell too.
Lately I've been really appreciating the trails, but tonight especially. When I run on the roads it's a pounding slogg and my legs drag. On these backwoods deer trails though I feel fast and energized. Feels like water flowing downstream!
