Orienteering 15:00 [1]

Picking up controls after the Chip Ross meet. It was a really pretty day. I wish I had been able to run a course, but I have to play it safe.

Note

Strange weather today. A high, thin layer of grey clouds makes me unable to decide wether it is overcast or sunny. The air is icey cold, and the ground is frozen, though the humidity is low and there isn't a hint of frost. And it's very windy, but from no prevailing direction - just turbulent indescision. Were this a Shakespearian play, one might say that something big is in the air.

Cardiomachines 10:00 [4]

Some intense intervals on the elliptical trainer. Followed by some upper body lifts.

Swimming 10:00 [3]

Lost my googles, so just did some water jogging and treading water.

Note

Watched the Olympics last night.
It was less motivational than I expected. There was lots of half-pipe coverage. The tricks are incredible, but it was too remeniscent of an NBA slam dunk competition. And for some reason, rich 19 year old stoners don't fit my image of the "Olympian."

Pairs ice dancing was better, but seemed tainted by 2002's scoring contraversy. Speed skating looks wicked though! When will they show X-Country Skiing???

Cardiomachines 25:00 [3]

15 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 10 on the rowing maching.
Planned to do some weights afterward, but started chatting with a friend and lost motivation.

Biking 25:00 [3]

With the good weather, I found an excuss to ride my bike home around lunch time.

I'm back in the habit of biking to and from work now - which is good. I don't log it, because the workout is pretty inconsistant, but I think it really effects my energy levels for the day.

Biking 45:00 [3]

On my way into work, I went past Walnut and kept an eye out for those orange and white signs.

Sure enough I saw one, and I wasn't fooling myself!!!
Clearly, dangling in the breeze, was a three sided control bag with a pin punch. This was too much - I had to go investgate before someone picked up the bags. I road quickly up to the Witham Hill open space, and hiked down to the OSU land.

It only took me about 30 seconds to see a shiny new bag from 866-Gaiters. It was hanging out in the middle of some green woods. There was no distinct control feature, so I'm guessing the course was set by an adventure racer or scout troop. Or maybe some sort of OSU related thing.
