Biking 1:00:00 [2]

Biking into Lebanon and back.
Went to run some errands, but got caught in a thunderstorm just as I reached town. After hanging out for an hour, it wasn't letting up, so I ducked my head and got soaked on the way home.

Note

Back from Aspen Grove. A fun weekend.
In general, I finished 50% behind the top runners. Not too shabby. Besides poor decisions on some trickier legs, I was happy with my navigation. Coming out of this, I think my greatest room for improvement is in terrain running technique.
Best result from the weekend - My left foot feels better afterward than before. Very good sign for the summer!!!

Orienteering race (Sprint) 25:00 [3]
shoes: New Balence 765 Red

Sprint race at Aspen Grove. Didn't go so well. Control three was sketchy, lost 7 minutes. Many people felt it was misplaced, but my opinion is that the map (a 1:5000 enlargment of a 1:15000 orignal) wasn't consistant in that area. It drained my enthusiams, and was hard to get moving again. Also had trouble moving through brush in running shoes.
A real shame, becuase the course was well set in a fun technical area!

Orienteering 52:00 [5] 6.0 km (8:40 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrators

Aspen Grove Middle. Chase format.
Really fun! This was definately worth the trip. I was head to head with John. We were constantly back and forth and it forced me to keep the intensity up. Had a narrow lead going into 12, but lost it on 13, when I was tricked into taking an unmapped major road through the logging.
