Orienteering 1:30:00 [2]

Went for a run on the USGS map around Red Bluff. Was a mixture of running and walking where the ground was rocky.
The USGS was very accurate, and the forest was like I remember: blazing fast and open. Visibility was too high though, so navigation was really easy. Would have been good training for me a year ago, but after Finland it seems trivial...
Still, I think some areas were quite fun. There are some areas with rather complicated rock features (not on the USGS of course), but the running speed is more limited there by the stony ground. I think it would be fun to map for training purposes.

And there really is almost no poisen oak. I say almost, because it seems to grow strategically in certain locations. I got myself stuck on top of a long plateu, with no way down but backtrack through 1 km of miserable terrain, or to bushwack through head high PO.
I chose the poisen oak, and then capped of the evening with a nice Technu bath in the Sacramento river.
