Running 1:10:00 [3] 7.3 mi (9:35 / mi)
shoes: Brooks (White Yellow Black)

Went running in Wildcat Canyon Park for the first time. Started out at the tilden farm. Took wildcat canyon trail to harvey canyon trail, and then along the ridge on nimitz way and down laurel canyon. It was a really scenic run.
I did an easy pace, and stopped several times to enjoy the view

Note

Downloaded catching features to my new computer. Very rusty. Need to brush up before sprints.

Running 35:00 [2]

Waited until the evening for this run, so the weather cooled off a bit. Ran up the fire trail, and then out panoramic to the clark kerr overlook. Really pretty seeing the fog come in through the golden gate.
In the evening, these roads really remind me of camp cooper and meriwether. But then again, I aways found these places a little spooky at night.

Orienteering 40:00 [4]
shoes: Kainuu Integrators

An overall disappointing day at Shell Ridge, I just couldn't finish. Combination of factors drained my enthusiasm. The course was very steep (450 m climb), the ground was very hard and unforgiving, I felt dehydrated and hungery, and I got pretty bad blisters on both feet. Also, I started the course with big mistakes on #1 and #2. Actaully, I can't call #1 a mistake. The vegetation at shell ridge is VERY poorly mapped, and I seriously thought I had run off the map. So I stopped and backtracked to figure out where I was, which was the smart thing to do. In reality, the map was wrong. With #2, I made the mistake of continuing to depend on vegetation for navigation, when I should have realized it couldn't be trusted.
I don't understand why someone would bother to put vegetation on the map if they aren't going to make any effort to get it correct.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Kainuu Integrators

Running to the start, and jogging back from control #8.
