Orienteering race 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: Kainuu Integrators

Blue course at Anza Borrego. Twisted my ankle again halfway through and dropped out of the race. It was not nearly as serious as china camp, but since this is a re-injury, I want to be extra careful.

Note

No time to train today - making the drive to Anza Borrego.

Note
(rest day)

Meant to work out today, but instead just worked. Sometimes you're on a roll and just don't want to stop...

Minor pain on the ball of my foot last night. I think due to some new boots. But it's pretty similar feeling to the inflamation that sidelined me 3 months last year, so I'll play it safe and switch back to some old ratty shoes for a couple days.

Orienteering 50:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

Went to Oakland, and Rex showed me one of hits favorite loops. The route was rather complicated. Lots of little turns and paths. So I carried the Oakland street map, and followed along. Rex was running a very hard pace, I couldn't keep up on the uphills.
Relaxed the pace on the return, when I took over navigating back.

Cardiomachines 15:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks (White Yellow Black)

Quick break midday, did fifteen minutes on recumbant bike.

Walking 20:00 [1]

Decided to walk home this evening. Actually took 40 minutes. Dang that hill is steep.

Event: Tilden Park

Orienteering 1:09:49 [3] 6.5 km (10:44 / km) +360m 8:25 / km
shoes: Kainuu Integrators

Tilden Park. Great fun. Beautiful Day. Ran Hard.
Tough route choice challenges (see leg 2 in route gadget) and some fast controlpicking to finish.

Note

Routegadget is up.
You can see my routes there. I will say that my route to 2 was neither faster nor easiest, but I am still satisfied with my decision. The leg I want back is 12. I completely lost focus in the middle of that leg and paid the price.
