Note
(rest day)
Thought I needed some rest. Got one of those cricks in my shoulder too, which was added encouragement to rest.

Wednesday Aug 20

Running 56:00 [3] 10.7 km (5:14 / km)
ahr:148 max:170 shoes: Grid Cohesions
Upper fire trail.

Clocked myself at 3.08 during the half mile return. The Garmin had a roughly 95% error over that distance (Reported 767m).

Tuesday Aug 19

Running 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Grid Cohesions
A nice run in Tilden Park, on the single track.

I saw the strangest animal down by the creek. I spooked it from along the trail, and it jumped across the trail in front of me. Than it ran across the creek and up the hillside in a quick bounding fashion. I would guess it was about 5 feet long from the tip of it's tail to it's nose. It had a long thin body, and an arching bushy black tail comprising about a third of it's length. It's body and face were dark grey.

I stopped to try and get a better look, but the forest was getting dark. I could slightly make out it's face. It was not round like a cat, but slightly more angular. Perhaps a feral dog? I'm not too sure.

Biking 1:30:00 [1]
Another Bay Trail ride. I thought this would be a nice mild workout after yesterday's tough orienteering race. It wasn't completely easy. I fell over at an intersection for the first time. It was not as painful as I thought it would be. About on par with some of slips yesterday.

It was dark when I got home today - fall is coming. Of course, the darkness was enhanced by a high cloud cover. Beautiful view of the city though.

Nice day at Tamarancho. The courses were super steep, slippery, and slashy. But still fun. A real physical challenge.

Had a pretty good result though, relative to the usual competition. Maybe this training thing really works.
