Happy 18th wedding anniversary to 'Bent!

Then...

And now.

I've added wedding photos from yesterday now too. (I'm slow without my computer.)

Orienteering race (Wedding) 55:00 [3]
slept:5.0 shoes: Salomon S-Lab XT 5 Softground

Pre-wedding orienteering at Devil's Glen! Course design by Bob. Pre-race pep talk by Shannon. Lots of climb, some overgrown slopes, a little bushwhacking, sloppy mud, a tequila shot, a selfie with Georgian Bay, Sportident timing and fierce competition!

'Bent and I raced solo and were both among the 4 teams/solos who cleared the course. Billy Wells beat 'Bent by 2 seconds in a sprint finish for the Male victory, and the newlywed team of Frankenjack and RocksTara took the overall and Female category wins. Great start to an awesome day!

Includes sleep on the plane. So nice to have our dogs back. We received photos while we were away but we weren't sure if Mocha's health would turn so it was worrisome. She is still feeling great, fortunately, and we are lucky to have the chance to spoil her a little longer.

Incredible drive around much of the Mont Blanc massif: Chamonix-Courmayeur-Aosta-Martigny-Chamonix. A lot farther than running around Mont Blanc! There would have been photos if my computer hadn't died.

Get a Mac, they said. It will be so reliable compared to PC, they said... Until the hard drive gets corrupted, that is. Fortunately, I backed up most of my files before I left Canada. Ugh.

Added GPS track for UTMB. Race report will be coming after I've had some sleep as well as my fill of Confit de Canard, Bordeaux, Reblochon and Pain au Chocolat.

'Bent and I went to Argentiere and took the cable car up to Les Grands Montets.

At 3233 meters of altitude, it's not quite as high as the Aiguille du Midi where we went last week but the views are spectacular, and we practically had the place to ourselves. Highly recommended.

Here's the view toward the magical Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc. (If you look closely, you might see the Carbons.)

We saw some climbers. I got their e-mail ID later so I could send them photos.

It was freezing up there - actually below freezing - but spectacular. As we got off the cable car, I was impressed to see an older woman with two canes making her way down from the lookout on the steep, icy, open staircase that clung to the rock face. As we passed each other, she flashed a big smile and said, "It is very good." What a great attitude!

Now that my shoulder is working again, I had to take another selfie.

Our time here is almost up so I took some photos from our apartment balcony tonight. If anyone is ever planning to stay in Chamonix, this has been a great place.
