And it's official: Air Canada cancelled our flight to the U.K. for Ultra Trail Snowdonia in June. They're keeping our money but they'll let us fly somewhere else within the next 24 months. The event website is still stubbornly accepting entries for the June 12-14 race weekend. Our first week of overpriced accommodation in Wales is theoretically non-refundable although the hotel has been closed so maybe we can negotiate a deal. Instead of *having* a vacation this year, it looks like we may just pay for one. ;( I kinda wish I hadn't been so diligent about making travel plans for 2020.

Some foothab after a fun Zoom Happy Hour with Crash. The most painful thing I did to my gimpy right foot all day was 1-footed balance with eyes closed. Maybe I'll give that a break temporarily.

Foothab. I was deliberately very easy on my heel today since I want to try to calm it down, then experiment to figure out what makes it flare up. There aren't many days when I only do one thing that could bother it. I dug out my old Barefoot Science insoles and wore them in my indoor shoes. The idea is that you're supposed to increase the level of arch support when you become accustomed to the current level. They feel helpful so I'll keep using them.

Happy Easter to you!

Dad took great joy in giving me a big Toblerone chocolate bar every Christmas. When the tradition started, I protested feebly that no adult needed that much chocolate but I soon stopped pretending. Mom's treat came in the spring when she gave me a yummy chocolate bunny. She passed away just before Easter last year and it was several months before I could bring myself to eat the last bunny I would ever receive from her.

I've been buying Christmas Toblerones in Dad's honour and, for the first time, this year I had to be my own Easter Bunny too. Actually, the Bunny has been a little *too* generous with the chocolate lately.

Thanks to Hammer for organizing a post-SMT coffee chat on Zoom this morning - even though he doesn't drink coffee. It was great to see so many good friends and share our different stories at this weird time in the world. Such a nice blast of connection and semi-normality. :)

Treadmill walk/run. I dared to bump it up to 1 minute walking, 2 minutes running, which seemed OK. Today's entertainment was one of the Red Bull TV films recommended by Funderstorm. - awesome.

I did heel drops for insertional Achilles tendinopathy, which is my best Google diagnosis while I can't see a health care professional. I've been doing heel drops on and off with no problem but my foot didn't like the bent-knee version that I added from a physio website. Oops, it really hurts now. I guess that was too advanced.

The original moment. Regardless of your political views, I can't imagine how tough it must be to answer questions in two languages in daily press conferences at such a challenging, fast-moving time. I'm surprised there aren't more foot-in-mouth moments!

Tomorrow will be Trudeau's 27th consecutive daily press conference then he's taking two days off to spend Easter with his family. For 14 days of these press conferences, his wife Sophie was quarantined with Covid-19 so he was also alone in the house with 3 kids - yikes.

Strength & Mobility 16:00 [1]

Foothab. Treadmill walk-runs don't bother my sore heel. Running on uneven terrain really bothers it. Hiking seems OK if the ground isn't too rough. This week my heel flared up badly after I went grocery shopping, came home, cleaned our food and walked around the house without indoor shoes. It's a good reminder not to be lazy about that. Things have reached a new low when washing apples leaves me in pain.
