Running 34:18 [3] 6.45 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Easy run, looking at the sights of Cheltenham with Ali. Not many sights to look at really, found some nice grass to run along but mostly along roads.

Running warm up/down 12:43 [2] 2.77 km (4:35 / km)
shoes: Asics trainers

To and from gym.

Strength and conditioning 1:00:00 [1]

Gym. Hard work today but I think I'm getting better at the med-ball push-ups. Can now complete 2/3 sets of 6+6. Squatted 40, 45, 47.5, 50, 52.5 x 5. Only did the stuff below 50 as was sharing with Sarah which is also why I've done 5 sets instead of 3.

Running warm up/down 18:17 [2] 3.61 km (5:04 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Up out to Braids.

Orienteering race 31:01 [4] 6.6 km (4:42 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

FWTN around Braids. Mass start with some excellent gaffling. I think there was a big Phi loop with a butterfly loop within that. Not too sure though, couldn't really work it out even when I got back. Managed to stuff 1 and went from the start to 3 then to 2 before finally to 1. Pretty clean for the rest of it though with only a few small mistakes. Ended up in a sprint finish with Andy which I suppose he won although I think I might have had it had there not been a green in the way which I went the slightly longer way around. Good fun anyway and feeling decent which isn't hard considering the whole area was grass (as you'd expect on a golf course).

Running warm up/down 18:53 [2] 3.54 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Down back again.

Running 55:37 [3] 9.9 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

EUOC 'long run'. Felt OK to start out but then after a loop of the killing fields and the crags we decided TC (a climb with 27% average gradient) was looking tasty. My first time running it and put in a respectable 2.15 (crushing Nixon's 2.40) as confirmed by Strava. However once at the top I proceeded to feel quite badly ill and a bit dizzy (illness from yesterday?) resulting in falling a long way off the back of the group where I decided to call it a day and jogged home. So yes, TC broke me but I got the segment so still worth. Somehow doubt it will last though. Still waiting on Ali's time and I doubt Nixon is going to take the humiliation for too long either.

Note

Woke up this morning with a bit of a headache and a cough. Nothing too serious but definitely not well enough for hills. May attempt them Thursday instead but who knows whether that will happen.

Running warm up/down 13:19 [2] 2.54 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics trainers

To and from the gym.

Strength and conditioning 1:00:00 [1]

Tough stuff tonight. Main lift was squats. Wasn't sure how much I could do so did 4 x 5 of 40, 45, 50, 50. 50 was easy enough, could probably have done more but 50 was fine.

Running long 2:46:13 [3] 26.08 km (6:22 / km) +1289m 5:07 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Huge run in the snowy Pentlands with Will, Ali, Tam and Callum for a bit of it. No idea about the names of the hills we went up but the route is here - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1034406.... Feel fairly confident in saying that this was the best run of my life so far. Solid amount of climb too. The Morrison's at the end was most appreciated. Happy birthday to Will x.

Running warm up/down 34:00 [2] 7.0 km (4:51 / km)
shoes: New Balance trainers

Up and down out to Liberton and back.

Orienteering 24:00 [4] 5.0 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: New Balance trainers

Mass start sprint followed by two train intervals around Liberton. Quite slushy so hard to get much speed going. Nav wasn't the best in places.
