Running warm up/down 1:28 [2] 0.3 km (4:53 / km)

Orienteering race 57:55 [4] 9.43 km (6:09 / km)

Okay race. Lost quite a bit on #12 but otherwise just off the pace of the fastest boys. Found my old Supra's at home to run in.

Running warm up/down 4:06 [1] 0.68 km (6:02 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

Not much and too early.

Running 1:59:33 [2] 12.8 km (9:20 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

FRA relays. Running leg 3, the navigation leg, as the token orienteer in the Holmfirth team. Unfortunately Clark wasn't particularly fast and so much of the 'run' up to 2 was basically a walk. Averaging over 11 minute k's. To be fair it was rather hilly and pretty rough but I could have definitely been a solid 15 minutes at least faster by myself. It was at 2 that the hard nav started. The mist was down and vision was about 20m. Missed 3 right and went too low. Then had to crawl up the hill after relocating, again waiting for Clark at the top. Nailed 4, very pleased here, compass was spot on. Went slightly too far right on 5 which meant we had to do more climb which was again very slow. My left shoe then decided to collapse. The sole has basically come off so I was pretty much running the 15 minutes down the hill with one shoe. Hit my foot on a rock quite hard do that's now painful. But made it back eventually. Could have gone maybe half an hour faster by myself just on running I think. Still sort of fun and makes me appreciate how important a compass is when you can't really see much at all.

Running warm up/down 19:50 [2] 3.84 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

Flat to KB and then to braids.

Orienteering 28:02 [3] 4.14 km (6:46 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

Corridor on Braids. Not the best, thought I was going wrong when I wasn't, a non-existent bunker meant i over shot a turn and then the corridor went through a bit of rubbish so I tried to go round and failed.

Orienteering 24:15 [3] 4.31 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

Head torch died having been in charge all night. Think I need a new battery. This does mean that it wasn't my fault it died on Ali at Jukola. Followed Alex round the 2nd half with his car headlight on his head.

Running 18:10 [3] 3.48 km (5:13 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212's (04/16)

Run home and got lost a bit as everyone decided to follow Alex down a dead end despite my best advice.
