MTBO 3 hour score event in Peebles. Covered Glentress, Cademuir and Harehope Hill. Most of us went round the latter 2 areas because the points were better, also I'm crap at the narrow sharp descents on the red and black runs at Glentress. Went round as a mixed pair with my husband, who's a cyclist who dislikes orienteering, but cycle orienteering was a compromise.
We were doing well for the first 2 hours despite me not having spent more than an hour on my bike for several months. I then panicked we wouldn't get back in time and came back via a safish route with minimal points, a mistake in retrospect as continuing on as planned would have been just as fast and got us in with the prizes. : (
There's another one at Innerleithen next month. May give that a go, might take Duncan and go as an intergeneration pair.
