Hiking (Commute) 40:00 [1]

A recovery waddle home from work with T-dog, hoping to work off some very sore quads. Funny thing, mainly the downhills are killing me. What a princess! Bash's finding it quite amusing. I guess I need to train more with kamikaze-descending on steep terrain. I definitely did something different in RTH this time:(.

Orienteering race (RTH) 5:10:00 [4] ***
shoes: Montrail Susitna

Raid the Hammer as the Crash, Bash and 'Bent Tree Huggers. See Bash's report. I switched to my Susitnas because they have screws in the soles for better traction, once I saw the map!
We had a much nicer day than forecast. The course was absolutely fantastic- hitting just about every scenic spot possible (and most of the hills). We've raced here several times, but it just keeps getting better.

I had pushed hard by myself in the first matrix and up some of the hills in the butterfly section, as I thought we'd be going pretty slow later on. Wrong. Although I towed where possible, Bash was really moving off-trail.
We were having a really good run, despite an error of at least 5 minutes I made in the second Matrix, until the infamous boo-boo at CP5D.
Still, I thought we ran well, despite Barb's knee. Crash ran a great race, her first RTH, and did some towing including up the dreaded Molson Mountain Climb. Also no penalties, thanks to our accurate Bash.

A brisk hike with the beasts to taper for tomorrow's RTH. Really nice day!

Strength (Home gym +) 1:15:00 [2]

Workout # 1 + core workout.

Cycling (MTB) 1:00:00 [3]

I was going to set up my trainer, but I got home just in time to head out in the reminants of the nice sunshine for a buzz around Palgrave. I'm enjoying my new 'bent (bike) before the rain and snow set in.

Running (Commute) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Hmm, first run in a bit of snow for the season. I forgot how much I like bundling up and running in crisp cold. Running trails with a headlamp seems so normal now!
The knee's still a bit odd, but seems better.

Running (Commute) 33:00 [1]
shoes: Montrail Susitna

This was going to be a hike to work so I didn't bug my knee further after Thumbs-of-Death worked on it, but T-dog had other ideas, so it was more of a jog/hike.

Running (Commute +) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Ecco Receptor

I was on track to finish my run to work too early, so I took an extended loop. Despite the weird-feeling knee, the legs seem to be fairly fast.

Strength (Home gym) 1:00:00 [2]
