Saturday Jul 4

Running race 2:02:58 [5] 25 km (4:55 / km) vdot: 43.8
ahr:177 shoes: Brooks CP Green 2

Creemore Vertical Challenge

Bash and I decided to do this on Thursday.

I kept the HR in the low 180s on the climbs, and high 170s for the rest.
I expected long climbs and enjoyed them, moving up in the pack, but I lost time on a long steep downhill.

Felt good overall though, and finished up with the similar time and placing as the Sulphur Spring run -13th overall, 7th over 40.

Note- I really liked the way this event was run. No chip timing but still accurate results, great venue on the race director's farm by the river, really scenic views, Creemore coffee as swag, pizza and Creemore beer after the race, maple syrup, coffee and home-made ceramics as podium prizes, tons of draw prizes.

Friday Jul 3

Cycling (Commute) 1:00:00 [1]

Easy commute with Bulletdog.

Thursday Jul 2

Running (Commute+) 36:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XT Wings

Bulletdog and I took a bit of a detour to the pond and around the old green trail. Ankle-deep water on the trails and thigh-deep soaking weeds left us drenched.

Running (Commute+) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XT Wings

A drier route home.

Strength (Home gym) 30:00 [2]

Part of workout #1- just the "pushing" exercises.

Wednesday Jul 1

Cycling (trainer) 1:18:00 [2]

Watched "the cyclist" with Bash as it rained outside.

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XT Wings

Around the local woods with Bash. Trying XT wings with an extra insole to reduce the arch support a bit.

Monday Jun 29

Paddlng 4:00:00 [2]

Much better conditions today- still some chop but Bash navigated us through protected waters. We went the whole way out without any difficulty.
Another fantastic day's paddle.

Sorry to leave the area, but there were some heavy storms forecast again.

Sunday Jun 28

Note
(rest day)

Howling winds, crashing waves and pelting rain made for a day of reading, trivial pursuit, and some exploring when it improved in the evening.
